Network / Systems Administrator

Job Description:

  • Responsible for installing and supporting Windows OS and third party applications and tools on local clients and servers. (Example: FTP, IIS, MS Project, Visio2003, VNC & PCAnywhere, Symantec Ghost Utilities)
  • Server setup regarding RAID installation and operating system
  • Oversees computer networks to ensure that they function smoothly.
  • Monitor and maintain Windows 98, 2000, XP, and Server 2003 computers
  • Install, configure, and maintain Hardware & Software Firewall devices, Virus Protection, & Security.
  • Network implementation (configure network equipment: network and security devices); Maintain network diagram
  • Network inventory management and control (hardware and software licenses inventory)
  • Responsible for setup, monitor, and maintain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device.
  • Responsible for backups of all critical files to storage devices and media
  • Responsible for computers hardware and software routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Responsible for repairing of computers and printers.
  • Obtain quotations and prepare purchase orders for new networking and computer equipment.
  • Occasional weekend work and off-shift work will be required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Related post secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • A+ or Network+ Certified or 2 years equivalent relevant IT work experience
  • Knowledge of routers, switches, VPN, firewalls, and various telecommunication services
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work independently in a demanding fast-paced environment

As a member of the development team, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects for integration into our TrackVision™ line of products for the Horse/Greyhound Racing Industry.

This position requires a talented developer who is highly experienced in web-based development, and who is very familiar with Allaire Homesite, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash. Basic ColdFusion applications and knowledge of SQL are an asset.
